Criteria and Frequency of test

A vehicle examination is needed if/for:

Brand new or second hand vehicles for registration purposes
Change of engine
Change of colour
Modification to be brought to vehicle
Allocation of new frame number in case of auto cycles / motorcycles damaged in accident
Allocation of new chassis number to vehicles where the chassis number on the chassis is partially rotten or defaced
Allocation of chassis number to locally assembled trailers
Black smoke notice
Prohibition notice
Bus plan in respect to body coach works
Examination of good vehicles to be licensed for the carriage of containers, dangerous or inflammable liquids in bulk
Examination of vehicles following:
1. The grant of a carrier’s license, road service license, taxi license or contract bus license
2. Exceptional extension of license to a vehicle having attained its age limit
3. Replacement of PSV or Goods vehicle or
4. Conversion of PSV vehicle to private vehicle
